• Dispatchers are asked to contact the Duty Officer (Sam this month) at the beginning of shift to confirm that the squad is in operation.

Operations Reminders
  • Check out sheets for the ambulance and equipment are to be completed at the beginning of each shift.
  • Please empty the trash from the ambulance at the end of each shift.

Fund Drive
  • 15,000 envelopes were stuffed and labeled by the FEGS group at the Samuel Field Y for the Annual Building Fund Drive mailing. This mailing was sent out in May.
  • Collections so far: June 2006: 346 Responses, yielding $8,226.00 in donations.

Grants
  • $33,680 US Government Assistance to Firefighters [and EMS] Grant to the squad was announced 8/19/05. Funds will be used for EMS equipment, PPE and Wellness and Fitness programs. Currently, approximately $4,500 has been awarded.
  • Members are reminded to submit receipts for their annual physicals for reimbursement.

Ambulance Maintenance
  • JAM-6: Fully operational.
  • JAM-7: Fully operational.

Special Event Crew Needed
  • Thursday July 13, 2006 from 8:00pm to 10:00pm
    The New York Philharmonic's annual Concerts in the Parks Series will be coming to Cunningham Park Thursday, July 13 at 8 p.m. The series, sponsored by Time Warner and commercial and consumer financier CIT, is free of charge and no ticket is required. The performance will take place at the park's 193rd Street Field. The orchestra, led by Conductor Xian Zhang and featured artist violinist Jennifer Koh, will be performing Tchaikovsky's Festival Coronation March and Violin Concerto, and Dvorák's Symphony No. 8. The two-hour concert will be followed by a fireworks show.
  • Wednesday August 2, 2006 6:30pm to 9:30pm
    St. Johns University Concert in the Great Lawn, At least two EMT’s will be required for this event. Flushing VAC is expected to cover the event as well.

Special Events Covered
  • Saturday June 10, 2006, St. Johns University Alumni Weekend Activities, Jim Downey, Ed Pearce and Captain Mazlish were on hand for the standby. There were no patients at this event in need of treatment.
