Noteworthy
  • MTA revokes free EZ-Passes for volunteer ambulances
Calling it a necessary step to help bridge an expected $1-billion budget gap next year, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority narrowly voted Wednesday to revoke thousands of free E-ZPass privileges from nearly 100 public agencies -- including the Nassau and Suffolk police departments -- despite criticism that the measure was a petty tactic to squeeze money out of New York City and the state. This means that our free “Orange E-Z PASSes” on our ambulances will be revoked Jan 1, and replaced with a white regular E-Z Pass.
